Ordinances
- Grass Height and Mowing (Ordinance Section 25-2)
- Ord. 25-2-2 - Maximum grass and weed height is 8 inches
- Ord. 33-2-19 - Both the property owner and tenants are responsible for mowing. Notices and citations may be issued either (or both) parties
- A written notice is issued. If the property is not mowed, first offense citations are a minimum of $100 and can increase to a maximum of $750. If the City has to have your property mowed you are also responsible for the cost of mowing. Liens may be placed on the property to recoup the fines and costs.
- Property owners and tenants are responsible for mowing the ditches and right-of-way as well (i.e. from your property line to the adjoining street surface)
- Garbage and Debris (Ordinance Section 25-3)
- Includes garbage, debris, inoperable vehicles, and dilapidated vehicles
- Unless an emergency situation exists a written notice is issued. If the problem remains, first offense citations are a minimum of $50 and can increase to a maximum of $750. Liens may be placed on the property to recoup the fines and fees.
